We're always on the lookout for new members, and in common with
a lot of amateur groups, we usually have a shortage of men! Not
that we'll turn women away, you understand, everyone's welcome!
So, what are we looking for in a prospective member? Pretty much
anybody can join the Artisans: You don't need to have any previous
acting experience, and we don't usually ask you to have an audition
- we're much more interested in how hard you're willing to work,
and how well you get along with the rest of the team.
We meet every Tuesday, at 8pm, at Fairkytes Arts Centre, Billet
Lane, Hornchurch. To help you find us, here's an interactive street
map of how to get there. Usually, we're quite happy if you
just turn up, although it helps if you let us know you're coming

(evening). We encourage prospective members to come along for
a week or two, and watch some rehearsals, to see if you like the
way we work. If we haven't frightened you away after a few weeks,
as far as we're concerned, you've joined! The treasurer will probably
then start asking you for your subscription!
We're currently in the final stages of rehearsals for our summer production, Joe Orton's
notorious comedy of the 1960s, Entertaining Mr. Sloane.
Subscriptions
Annual Joining Fee: £15.00
Monthly subscription: £5.00
If you don't come along for more than three months, your membership
lapses, and you won't be required to pay subs for that period.
Instead, when you come back, we ask you to re-join, ie., pay the
Joining Fee again, and then monthly subs from then on.
